what I’m up to, and Keira Knightley’s PSA
I’m working on a red dragon at the moment, but also sketches for an ad and writing ideas. Just squeezing some art in between my work shifts.
SPARTANS!!! TONIGHT, WE DINE IN PIZZA UNO! Actually just Danielle and I. We can’t fit three hundred guys in our car.

This morning I saw that domestic violence PSA with Keira Knightley in it. I know alot of people are genuinely concerned about their kids being exposed to violence through the TV, and while their concern is valid I can’t help but wonder if their protests are more selfish. The ad is jarring, like a slap in the face, and it should be. Domestic violence is unacceptable. The fact that the ad forces you to confront your feelings about a woman being kicked repeatedly by her boyfriend isn’t a reason to remove it. Shock and disgust are the emotions one ought to feel when presented with the images from the ad.
True, it’s uncomfortable to confront that reality. It’s a shame to have to discuss it. I’m of the opinion, however, that discussing it and confronting it are far more reasonable than sweeping it under the rug and pretending it doesn’t happen. I think anyone who hides their discomfort behind the mask of proper parenting is a coward.

I want to see you try to fit 300 in your car, just for kicks lol.
And I can’t wait to see the dragon when it’s done!!
